The way I look at it is I am now half way through my life's journey and it's been a very, very colorful ride. Every day I open my eyes I take it as a personal achievement.
There are two instances in my life that I distinctly remember. The 1st is when I was in Junior High and the cheerleader sitting in front of me was crying due to boyfriend problems. I was very popular at the time, or even known in her circles but I put myself out there and started talking to her...needles to say after a few minutes I her laughing and back on track with the day. I can't whatever happened to her after that but for that one instance in time I made a difference in her life which made a profound difference in mine.
The 2nd instance would be my grandparents. I remember always thinking that I would be okay if I could just find someone to share my life with like my grandparents did. And thank God, through all my stupidity of youth and false modesty of adulthood I did. My wife, Anna, has stood by me for 15 yrs. and given me 5 beautiful children...and to a Sicilian that is a great, great thing.
